God Speaks
to Us Through Dreams July 23-25, 2010 “Your old ones shall dream, dreams and your young ones shall see visions.” (Joel 2:28) We receive guidance daily through sleep dreams and daydreams. That guidance may show us pathways to healing relationships, to creativity in work and to deepening our friendship with sacred creation and the Divine. But we need to pay attention or else we miss a lot. Too often dreams are treated like junk mail or spam! This retreat will offer ways to explore and honor dreams and to bring dream wisdom into daily life. Contact: Pyramid Life Center, Paradox, NY
The Gifts of Dreaming August 15, 2010 10 am – 3 pm Your old ones shall dream, dreams and your young ones shall see visions. (Joel 2:28) The dream is a little
hidden door An unexplored dream is like an unopened letter. (The Talmud) We receive guidance daily through sleep dreams and daydreams. That guidance may show us pathways to healing relationships, to creativity in work and to deepening our friendship with sacred creation and the Divine. This day will offer practical ways to explore and honor dreams and to bring dream wisdom into daily life. We will notice the ways God can give guidance through dreams. Exploring dreams we learn to be attuned to the rhythms of the soul and gain access to our deeper selves. Dreamwork is not so much about interpretation as it is about processes and explorations by which we connect more deeply with life. It is also about fun as well as quiet moments of realization! It is a profoundly spiritual process of coming to know oneself better and living more fully the purposes of soul.

Meeting the Departed in Dreams
Dreams of the departed can bring healing gifts. They may be startling or wonderfully comforting. Conflicts can be resolved, guidance can be exchanged, relationships can be healed and grief can be navigated in the meeting place of the dream worlds. Robert Moss tells us: “Here’s an open secret: we don’t need a go-between to talk to the departed. We can have direct communication with out departed, in timely and helpful ways, if we are willing to pay attention to our dreams.” Saint Therese of Lisieux knew these truths well. It was a dream of a community ancestor, the founder of Carmel in France, that brought her comfort and hope. That founder died long before Therese was born, nevertheless, she brought guidance to Therese. Patricia Garfield says: “As we dreamers accompany our lost loved ones on the rite of passage through life’s great mystery, dream are our guiding star.”
This day includes the opportunity to practice ways to explore dreams.

Heart and Soul Quest Weekend Jesus and the Free Woman
“If we think about the life of Jesus and ponder it, we see ourselves as reflected in his life, which shines before us like the very brightness of mirrors.” ~ St. Catherine de’ Ricci
Using stories from the Gospels, we will reflect on the life of Jesus and look more deeply at our own lives. We will explore themes of healing, forgiveness, freeing one’s voice and how we are being invited to grow and deepen in the process of becoming our true selves.
This retreat includes lectures and meditations with questions for reflection followed by time for prayer and journaling. We will gather for small group sharing within this supportive community of other seekers.

“Awakening Wholeness: Body, Mind and Spirit” Adult Children of Addictive Families Weekend December 10-12, 2010 A January 2000 study reports that one in four U.S. children (19 million children) is exposed to familial alcohol abuse or addiction. Families with an alcoholic parent or caregiver live in situations that are disorganized and unstable. If you grew up in an addictive family you are a resilient person! You developed skills for navigating the challenges. You may have scars. The methods used to survive childhood do not always work well in adulthood. They need to be adapted and sometimes let go. With gentleness, humor, love and respect, this retreat offers time to explore and support progress (not perfection!) on the roads of recovery. We will explore the long-term effects of growing up in an addictive family where risks of violence, abuse and neglect run high. In a supportive community we will expand resources for healing and growth through conferences, small groups and reflection. There will be time for rest and sharing in the presence of our Higher Power, our true, loving, creator and parent. Bottom Line: It is good to take a weekend to share experience, strength and hope. You belong. Your Higher Power is available. You are loved.
