Living a Life of Hope

    A Woman to Woman Retreat

            May 16-18, 2008

Hope is a spirituality and practice that can be learned.   Life has more meaning and we age and heal better if we have hope.   It is difficult to define it, however a way to think about hope is as an orientation of the heart, a way of being in the world that brings life, and nurtures life. Hope is a way of saying “yes” to life in uncertain times.  This retreat will include prayer, stories, music, journaling, and an abundance of hope in sharing with other women in the abiding presence of the Divine.  “They that hope in Yahweh will renew their strength, they will soar as with eagles’ wings; They will run and not grow weary, walk and not grow faint.”  Isaiah 41:31.

God Speaks to Us Through Dreams
                                July 18 – 20, 2008

"Your old ones shall dream, dreams and your young ones shall see visions." (Joel 2:28)

We receive guidance daily through sleep dreams and daydreams. That guidance may show us pathways to healing relationships, to creativity in work and to deepening our friendship with sacred creation and the Divine. But we need to pay attention or else we miss a lot. Too often dreams are treated like junk mail or spam! This retreat will offer ways to explore and honor dreams and to bring dream wisdom into daily life. It includes sharing and an experiential component to practice specific ways to explore dreams.

 The Healing Power of Dreaming

                September 6, 2008

Your dreams can be guideposts to healing. They bring your attention to what is hidden. They can help you to be healthier, warn you of risks and increase your self-awareness. During this day you will learn and practice ways to explore your dream. You will make a plan to honor their guidance. There will be opportunity to grow a fresh healing dream and to do healing work in a supportive circle of explorers. Bring your imagination, your sense of adventure and your desire to heal.

             Courage to Change

Retreat for Adult Children of Addictive Families

                September 12-14, 2008

A common thread among adults who grew up in addictive families is a pervasive sense of loss.  At a young age, they learn to minimize, deny, rationalize, discount their feelings and experiences as well as handle responsibilities beyond what is appropriate for their age – all at a time when children are developing a sense of identity and self-worth.

This retreat offers opportunity to heal, to learn, to pray, to honor your truth and resiliency in a community of support.  Retreat includes prayer, lecture, music, sharing, reflection, great meals and a private room.  This makes a great gift for yourself or another loved one during the holiday season.

“After a cruel childhood, one must reinvent oneself.  Then reimagine the world.”  Mary Oliver

Nourishing Your Creative Life

Heart And Soul Quest Weekend

    November 14-16, 2008

You were born of the spirit of the Divine and you carry creativity within you.

Cooking a festive dinner, negotiating a business deal, teaching, taking a photo, making music and tending a garden are expressions of this creativity.  Tending a marriage, re-designing a kitchen, cleaning a closet, painting, writing, raising a child to adulthood, healing inner wounds and listening to a friend’s story are of the creative life.   Your creativity is a treasure that gives to the world and that feeds your inner life offering endless possibilities through God’s amazing grace.

This is a weekend to honor your gifts.  It is a time to open the waterways of creativity if they have become polluted or blocked.  It is a time to be warmed, nurtured and renewed.

The retreat will include these stories and more:  “The Weeping Woman”, “The Little Match Girl” and the story of Mary who in openness to Divine creativity, said yes to birthing the Christ.

The retreat will include small group sharing, lecture and meditations with questions for reflection, followed by time for prayer and journaling.
